Have you ever heard a song ten years forgotten that could instantly propel your thoughts back to a specific place and time?

Have you ever walked into a used book or record store and let the intoxicating fumes of dust and decay overwhelm your senses with a comforting air of familiarity?

Have you spent a significant amount of time hunched over your computer screen with a USB controller playing 8 and 16-bit games on emulators with tears of joy and wonderment in your eyes?

Well, then you too have been bitten by the nostalgia bug.

My name is Thomas and I am an 80s and 90s addict. Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by this age of brightly-colored, electronically-inspired cultural imagery.

The main purpose of this blog is to revisit and recollect the pieces of a fractured childhood. Topics will include: songs, television shows, films, commercials, cartoons, comics, photographs, old advertisements, and video games that remind me of simpler times.

As Terence McKenna explained in his Alien Dreamtime oration: “Every time a culture gets into trouble it casts itself back into the past looking for the last sane moment it ever knew.”

With all of the chaos and uncertainty facing humanity in these desperate economic and spiritually dissatisfying times, there is solace to be found in the simplistic pleasures of reminiscence.

Any and all contributions are welcome and I will display user-submitted articles, images, videos, and sound clips of particular interest. Don’t hesitate to e-mail me with questions, comments, or ideas.
